About Sheila

Sheila Fishman, Renaissance woman, chef/nutritionist and long-time New Paltz resident, is thrilled to be the new owner of the Fox Hill Bed and Breakfast, just down the road in Highland. This beautiful property, long the home of the Luke family, has been revived in techno- color to match the fabulous onsite gardens, koi pond, large pool, hot tub and inviting spacious rooms of this 1925’s farmhouse.

Sheila.

Inspired by a culinary trip to Greece and The Acropolis, Sheila has taken on with zeal, the mission of the “Three Graces, (or Muses)”: Beauty, Charm and Mirth, who as the attendants to the gods, made sure everyone was having a great time! Channeling her life-long skills in food and hospitality, and after too, too many jobs, she finally feels like she is the Proprietress she was born to be, on her own elevated Acropolis: Fox Hill. The three guest rooms are named for the Graces: Thalia, Euphrosyne, and Aglaia, each with their own unique personality and styling.

Fabulous healthful breakfasts (of course with local produce), displayed art by local artists, easy access to the Highland Rail Trail, and Sheila’s earthy sense of humor makes this THE place for your romantic getaways, athletic events, or hosting your visiting relatives, who you may prefer not to have in your home!

With any unexpected free time, she likes to bike and hike and hang out in the hot-tub with friends! A long time commitment to music means that she may break out into song at any given point. Broadway requests are taken at breakfast. She imagines herself a female “Maecenas“- a patron of art, music or literature.
